Barry's Bristol Ball Buster

7:30am start, 13hr 30min time limit, finish by 9:00pm

The 'classic distance' 200km route (Brevet 'Randonnée') circumnavigates the city of Bristol before climbing up on to the Mendip Hills then down to the Somerset Levels and returning to the start point in Long Ashton.

Highlights include: Clifton Suspension Bridge, views of both Severn bridges, the Cotswold Escarpment, the Mendip Hills, Glastonbury Tor, the Somerset Levels, Gordano Valley.

With over 2000m of climbing over the 200km distance this is sure to test the legs of even the best riders.

In 2019 cyclists from all around the world will be preparing for the quadrennial Paris - Brest - Paris Audax. This is the blue ribband event for all keen randonnée riders and consists of a 1200km route from the French capital to the West coast of Normandy and back again. Completing Barry's Bristol Ball Buster will qualify as the requisite 200km ride that riders must undertake to be able to apply for a place on this prestigious event. You'll 'just' need to ride a 300km, 400km and 600km route in addition to be able to apply.
